Close relationship with the socio-economic world
As a university school of management, the IAE of the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France (UPHF) provides excellent teaching in the fields of administration and management, focused mainly on accounting and auditing, management, human resources and entrepreneurship, offering undergraduate degrees through to PhDs. The school serves local learners and is closely connected to the business world. It has enabled the economy of the Hauts-de-France region to uncover the human resources essential for its development. The IAE of the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France (UPHF) offers more than 900 students high-level vocational courses. It opens doors for all of the students who attend. The integration rate is close to 100% in some sectors. This is due to two particularly important factors: professional university education with work-study programmes from the third year of a general degree to Master, and individualised support and our work-study approach, which combines theoretical lessons with periods of work. These are real advantages for student success. Our medium-term objectives are to strengthen our language teaching and so promote the international mobility of our students, and to take on digital transformation, which will transform all our teaching practices. We must proactively change the content of our teaching because in companies, professions are changing under the pressure of digital technology. In 2019, IAE of the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France (UPHF) plans to set up the Transalley technology hub on the extended Mont Houy campus. In these new premises, we will continue to develop our DNA and our raison d'être, which is the success of all our students.

Being on a sandwich course (work-study programme) allows me to see the gap between theory and practice, especially in the field of accountancy. Companies often require three years of experience after graduation. Thanks to the sandwich course, I will have them. The apprenticeship contract is part of initial training. It is aimed at young people aged 16 to 25 for a period of one to three years. The training must represent at least 400 hours per year. The apprentice’s remuneration varies according to the year of the contract and their age, from 25% to 78% of the minimum wage.
